Tinify, also recognized as TinyPNG and TinyJPG, offers the worldwide leading optimization service for images on the web. Our intelligent compression engine reduces file sizes while maintaining optimal image quality, with more than 3 million images processed daily.


Our optimization products have garnered the trust of numerous corporations worldwide. Designers and developers frequently rely on our software to enhance the speed and ranking of their websites, applications, and webshops.


We are dedicated to providing our customers with the best possible experience, and we need a skilled Full Stack Developer with an affinity for UX to help us achieve that goal.

What you'll be up to: 

As a member of the Tinify team, you'll have the opportunity to work on a range of exciting projects and play a crucial role in driving our growth and development.

In this position, you'll be involved in the continuous development of our current services, with a keen eye for identifying opportunities for improvement. We're committed to enhancing our in-house knowledge and development capacity, as we have many future plans in the works, like additional features and new products.

The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of the full-stack development, knowledge of scalability, robustness, and performance, and a talent for creating engaging and accessible user interfaces. With a strong emphasis on innovation and forward-thinking, there are plenty of exciting projects and opportunities for growth at Tinify.

As a full stack engineer in Tinify, you will:

  • Develop, maintain and support modern web applications (microservices and React / Next.js / TypeScript).
  • Play a key role in designing and developing intuitive, user-friendly interfaces that improve the overall user experience.
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and mockups to visualize UX concepts.
  • Keep our official plugins and SDKs up to speed (e.g. our API clients, WordPress, Photoshop-plug-in etc) and…. Create new plugins our users will love.
  • Write technical documentation people will actually understand.
  • Understand our customer's needs, and potential issues and assist the support team by creating sustainable solutions. Have you ever heard of DRY?

Our technology stack encompasses a wide range of powerful tools and frameworks, including (though not exclusively):

  • Typescript and Next.JS for API and frontend
  • Python and Django
  • C++, Rust, C and protobuff
  • PostgreSQL with stored procedures in PL/pgSQL
  • Google Cloud Platform (GCP) with Kubernetes (GKE)

Why you're awesome

Here are the qualities we're looking for in a candidate:
  • You hold a Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in building microservices and writing frontend code in more than one programming language.

  • You build software with the end-user in mind and enjoy knowing that developers worldwide are using the software you've built and returning for more.

  • You approach software development with a polyglot attitude, carefully choosing the right technology for each project, and have examples to share.

  • Experience in Python, Rust, C++ or C is a plus.

  • You're excited about learning new things and can tell us about something new you've recently picked up.

  • You're comfortable asking questions, challenging conventions (in a humble manner), and open to feedback.

  • Finally, you're already residing in the Netherlands, have a valid EU work permit, and are willing to travel to our Amersfoort office occasionally (located at the Central Station).


After one year, how would you know you're doing a good job?

At the end of the first year, you'll have accomplished the following:
  • Contributed to a wide range of microservices and demonstrated a good understanding of the codebase.

  • Taken ownership of a significant portion of our systems (25%).

  • Created comprehensive and easy-to-understand documentation.

  • Improved overall code quality and maintained high coding standards across the board.

  • Generated innovative ideas that have the potential to positively impact our business.

  • Responded to all helpdesk tickets with a high level of professionalism and efficiency.

  • Achieved at least one personal development goal and continuously worked towards improving your skills and knowledge.

  • Fostered a positive and enjoyable work environment for yourself and your colleagues. We can have fun together.
